Dharamshala, May 4 In Match 54 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Punjab Kings clinched a commanding 37-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants in a high-octane contest at the picturesque Dharamshala ground. With this win, Punjab Kings have surged to the second spot on the points table, accumulating 15 points from 11 matches.
Punjab Pile Up 236 on the Back of Prabhsimran’s FireworksOpting to bat first after losing the toss, Punjab Kings posted a mammoth 236/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Opening batter Prabhsimran Singh was the star of the innings, scoring a scintillating 91 runs, while forming crucial partnerships with Josh Inglis (30) and captain Shreyas Iyer (45).
Punjab’s finishing flourish came from Shashank Singh, who hammered 33 off 15 balls, and Marcus Stoinis, who added a rapid 15 off just 5 deliveries to push the total past the 230-run mark.
In the bowling department for Lucknow, Akash Singh and Digvijay Rathi picked up two wickets apiece, while Prince Yadav managed one scalp.
Lucknow Falter Despite Badoni’s ResistanceChasing a steep target of 237, Lucknow Super Giants were rocked early, losing Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram in the third over itself. The top-order collapse continued as Nicholas Pooran (6), captain Rishabh Pant (18), and David Miller (11) failed to capitalize.
Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad provided the only substantial resistance, adding 81 runs for the sixth wicket.
