Bagalkote: The district administration has lauded the efforts of Udayavani newspaper for bringing out a special edition titled Grama Vani, which highlights various rural development works undertaken by the Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayats and Gram Panchayats across Bagalkote district.
The Grama Vani special edition was officially released at a function held at Kudalasangama by Deputy Commissioner Janaki K.M., Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Shashidhar Kurera, and Superintendent of Police Amarnath Reddy.
“A commendable initiative” – DC Janaki K.M.Speaking on the occasion, DC Janaki K.M. stated that Grama Vani, which documents developmental initiatives spearheaded by the Zilla Panchayat, offers useful and detailed information. “This is a commendable initiative. The edition gives a brief introduction to the villages and development updates. It serves as an effective means of reaching government schemes to the people. I congratulate the Udayavani team on behalf of the district administration,” she said.
“A praiseworthy work” – SP Amarnath ReddySuperintendent of Police Amarnath Reddy noted that under the supervision of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) department, a wide range of development works have been implemented across 602 villages in the district. “The Grama Vani edition by Udayavani, which compiles this useful information, is indeed praiseworthy. The RDPR department has done remarkable work in the district, and this edition brings that to public view. My congratulations to the Udayavani team,” he added.
ZP CEO Shashidhar Kurer said the edition brings to light every government scheme implemented across all villages under Bagalkote Zilla Panchayat’s jurisdiction. “Of particular note is the documentation of achievements under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), including certain initiatives that have gained attention at the state level. Presenting this in the form of a reference book—along with detailed data and figures—is a welcome move. This contributes positively to the environment for further developmental efforts by the ZP, TP, and GP bodies,” he said.

Biradar, advertisement representative Prakash Chavhan, and Vittala Moolimani were also present.
Consolidated portrayal of rural progressThe Grama Vani edition presents a consolidated account of the development projects carried out by the Zilla Panchayat in a single volume. It serves as a mirror reflecting the rural development initiatives in the district. While the RDPR and ZP bodies are implementing these works, Udayavani has taken the initiative to showcase these efforts to the public—an effort that has been widely appreciated.
