Where is The Rock? WWE legend's WrestleMania 41 no-show raises eyebrows

While the first night of WrestleMania 41 ended on a high note, the second night was not what fans expected it to be. The Rock , who has been involved in the John Cena storyline being a long-time Cody Rhodes rival, was mysteriously absent in the headline championship match. Fans were eager to see The Final Boss’ entrance, but it was rapper Travis Scott who made an uneventful entrance in Cena’s 17th championship victory.

The Rock’s absence mounted fans' criticism as social media erupted with “No Rock” trend

WrestleMania 41 was expected to be one for the ages, with blockbuster names, historic moments, and the kind of spectacle only WWE can deliver. And while it delivered in many ways, fans couldn’t help but feel something, or rather someone, was missing. That someone was none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

After playing a major role in the lead-up to WrestleMania, including a headline-grabbing appearance at Elimination Chamber where he aligned with John Cena and Travis Scott, The Rock’s presence at WWE’s biggest show of the year felt like a sure thing. He had effectively kicked off Cena’s long-awaited heel turn— his first in 22 years— by orchestrating the betrayal of Cody Rhodes after Rhodes refused to sell his soul.

But since the hype, The Rock was absent, going radio silent. On top of that, he was not very talkative about the event in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 41. There was no follow-up, no explanation, and certainly no payoff. As the main event between Cody Rhodes and John Cena unfolded in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, fans waited for the signature theme or even a backstage vignette. But it never came.

Instead, rapper Travis Scott, who had also appeared at Elimination Chamber, emerged as the surprise factor in the main event. He interfered, took a Cross Rhodes from Cody, and inadvertently helped Cena capture his record-breaking 17th world championship. Cena even celebrated with Scott afterward, echoing his last WrestleMania main event win in 2013, ironically, also against The Rock.

Yet despite this historic win, much of the fanbase was fixated on who wasn’t there. “No Rock” trended on X as frustrated fans expressed disappointment over what they saw as a dropped storyline and a major missed opportunity.

While WrestleMania 40 was a huge spectacle and was a center of discussion months after the blockbuster event, the 41st edition of the event, according to fans looked pale.

“Very undwhelming main event. No chemistry. Bad pacing. Travis Scott spot was pointless, and lack luster. No Rock?? What the f*ck is the point???” one fan wrote on X.

“WHERE WAS THE ROCK?💀 No way his movie schedule didn't allow him to show up for at least 2 minutes,” another frustrated fan wrote.

“One of the worst WrestleMania main events in history. Absolute garbage. Plus it made zero sense to not involve the Rock here. Travis Scott for no reason? Absolute garbage,” another shared with disappointment.

“What was the point of John Cena selling his ‘soul’ to The Rock? The Rock should’ve been a MAJOR part of this storyline and Cena winning and he has no part in it. Maybe I missed something but having Travis Scott out there as the interference guy is a let down,” one fan shared.

Certainly, the storyline seemed half-baked without The Rock. As of yet, there is no report of why the Great One missed the biggest WWE event, but undoubtedly, frustration boiled over Cena’s final WWE run.
