Former Loose Women star, Andrea McLean, has shared an update highlighting the struggles that she has faced since being hospitalised with pneumonia earlier in the year. Posting to her Instagram account, the 55-year-old TV presenter shared that she had been attending a wellness week in Turkey to try and help her to feel better, but admitted that she still felt "slow".
Speaking into the camera on her social media account, shared that she had a "bumpy start" to the year and it "really set her back quite a bit". She explained: "For those of you who don't know, it was basically I was hospitalised with pneumonia and kidney issues and all kinds of stuff. I've been really wanting to get back into wellness and fitness, but it has been a crawl rather than a walk or a run."
Explaining more in the video's caption, Andrea wrote: "My journey back to wellness is proving to be slow and bumpy. So when I was invited to come along to a Wellness week in Turkey, to train alongside incredible Olympic athletes and world class dancers, I said it sounds amazing.... BUT please know I can't keep up. I am slow now. I may fall down. I was nervous
"And it's been wonderful. I have gone at my own pace. I've accepted that right now I can't do what I used to. And yes, I had to lay down for the rest of the day because I had too much fun doing a dance class and forgot to take it easy. But it was all ok. No pressure. No worries. I have done the morning walk - not the run. I have done stretching and yoga. I've had a massage. And I have met some of the most wonderful people."
The former shared in March that she was diagnosed with severe pneumonia, acute kidney injury and sepsis, after undergoing a series of tests. She recalled collapsing in her home and laying in the bathroom for an hour before being discovered by her husband.

At the time, speaking to The Mirror, she revealed that she "might not be here now" if she had waiting any longer to call for help. She explained: "I got up to go to the bathroom and just fell to the floor. By the time the paramedics arrived, they said my blood pressure was so low they had to stabilise me before moving me.
"Our bedroom is in the loft and they couldn't get the stretcher around the tight bend, but eventually I managed to slide down the stairs, and was rushed to hospital. What happened over the next few weeks changed my life forever."
She added: "There are rarely second chances in this life, so as I began to regain my strength I knew I had to seize the day and focus on what I really want to do. I very nearly died."
