Liverpool gave fans plenty to sink their teeth into with a 3-1 comeback victory over Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan. On a day when £79million signing Hugo Ekitike made his debut and £116m man Florian Wirtz got his first goal for the club, it was Mohamed Salah and 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha who produced the most eye-catching performances.
The Reds fell behind when Asahi Uenaka fired in off the post in the 55th minute. But they finally got their attacking act together just after the hour mark with Wirtz, Trey Nyoni and Ngumoha netting to seal a handsome victory. Here, Express Sport takes you through how each Liverpool player performed...
Liverpool player ratings vs Yokohama (4-3-3)Giorgi Mamardashvili: 6
Wasn't overly busy but got down well to stop a Dean David header.
Conor Bradley: 5 (Frimpong, 64)
Lost his man at the back post and was lucky it did not result in Yokohama being headed in front.
Ibrahima Konate: 5 (Tsimikas, 64)
His individual error sparked a Yokohama counter-attack and he was bailed out by Virgil van Dijk. Was also sucked out of position for the goal which put the Japanese side ahead.
Virgil van Dijk: 7 (Endo, 59)
Solid defensive display.

Milos Kerkez: 5 (Robertson, 64)
Was fortunate that an intercepted pass in his own half did not result in Yokohama taking the lead.
Dominik Szoboszlai: 8 (Elliott, 64)
Looked really sharp, especially in the game's early stages. Long and short line-breaking passes, defensive work; his performance had the look of a player who knows his position is under threat from Wirtz.
Ryan Gravenberch: 4 (Jones, 46)
Needs a lot more practice on his long throw-ins. Gave away a free-kick with a terrible tackle moments after getting nutmegged.
Florian Wirtz: 7 (Mac Allister, 64)
No 'wow' moments in his general play, and lost the ball a handful of times, but took his goal well.
Mohamed Salah: 9 (Elliott, 64)
It'll be another productive season if he keeps playing like this. Produced first-rate balls over the top to find Cody Gakpo, Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez and then Gakpo again. All four failed to score but Salah then played a key role in Wirtz's equaliser.
Hugo Ekitike: 7 (Nunez, 46)
A couple of bright moments on his debut. Produced a nice flick to Bradley round the corner and went close with a cheeky back-heel attempt at goal.
Cody Gakpo: 6
Hit the post with a low curler early on and did look dangerous, but with the amount of chances he missed you have to conclude he was too wasteful.
SUBS
Curtis Jones: 6
Ball was played in behind him when Yokohama took the lead but made up for it when he intercepted a pass, led the attack and got the clever assist for Wirtz's goal.
Darwin Nunez: 5
Dreadful miss after latching onto Salah's ball over the top.
Wataru Endo: 6
Big reception from the Japanese fans and a nice gesture as he was handed the captain's armband by Van Dijk.
Rio Ngumoha: 9
Picked the ball up just inside the Yokohama half, darted towards the box and found the net with a low effort. Lightning fast feet and acceleration gave the game a real injection. Easy to see why Liverpool fans are so excited about him. And he's still only 16.
Trey Nyoni: 7
Another promising Liverpool youngster, the 18-year-old fired Liverpool in front by latching onto Jeremie Frimpong's cross.
Kostas Tsimikas: 6
Quiet cameo in a strangely short back-line.
Jeremie Frimpong: 7
Played a great ball in for Nyoni to tap home.
Andy Robertson: 6
Helped Liverpool see out the win after replacing Kerkez.
Harvey Elliott: 6
Back in action off the bench after starting against AC Milan last time out.
Alexis Mac Allister: 6
Finally banked some pre-season minutes.
