He's a cherished British horticulturalist and TV personality who has graced our television screens for decades. Alan Titchmarsh initially ventured into broadcasting when he presented the gardening show House in a Garden on BBC Radio 2.

He subsequently made his small screen debut on BBC programme Nationwide as a horticultural specialist, before assuming presenting duties for the Chelsea Flower Show on BBC television in 1983.

Titchmarsh achieved stardom fronting BBC's Gardeners' World and Ground Force during the late 1990s and early 2000s, where he collaborated with Charlie Dimmock and Tommy Walsh, which proved enormously successful for its unexpected garden transformations.

Beyond his gardening ventures, Titchmarsh has authored numerous books, with his debut published in 1998.

He's equally recognised for his passion for the British countryside and the Royal Family. His accolades include the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for contributions to horticulture and broadcasting.

Throughout his numerous professional accomplishments over the decades, his wife Alison has remained a steadfast and encouraging figure beside him.

During an interview with Saga magazine earlier this year, he said: "It's amazing that we have lasted for 50 years. We haven't got there yet, mind. We might not make it. Take nothing for granted!"

The duo initially met each other at an amateur dramatics society back in the early 70s before exchanging vows in 1975. Since then, the couple welcomed two daughters together, Camilla and Polly.

Hailing originally from Ilkley, West Riding of Yorkshire, Titchmarsh now divides his time between Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The Titchmarshes moved to their Grade II-listed Georgian farmhouse in Hampshire in 2002. The duo have converted the residence into a tranquil rural sanctuary, featuring an extensive garden that showcases Alan's love for horticulture.

The estate, set within four acres of grounds, features 10 mini waterfalls, an enormous greenhouse, a shed and an array of verdant foliage.
