Rajasthan Continues to Sizzle: Heatwave Intensifies Across the State

The summer heat in Rajasthan has reached alarming levels, with mercury soaring above 40°C in most regions. According to the Meteorological Department, the ongoing western disturbance is gradually weakening, reducing the pace of north-westerly winds. As a result, the intensity of heat is expected to rise in the coming days.

Rising Heat, Sleepless Nights

Residents are facing a double blow — scorching afternoons and humid nights. While daytime temperatures are pushing people indoors due to excessive sweating and heat stress, the increasing humidity at night is making it difficult to sleep comfortably.

On Monday, Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 41.5°C, and other cities followed suit with similarly high readings. The weather office has warned that daytime heatwave conditions could persist, especially in the afternoon.

Severe Heatwave in Some Areas

The weather center reported that heatwave-like conditions were observed in a few parts of the state on Monday. The highest temperature was recorded in Churu at 42.2°C, which is 2.5°C above normal. Meanwhile, the lowest temperature was registered in Fatehpur (Sikar) at 17.7°C.

No Immediate Relief Expected

According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, the weather is likely to remain mostly dry across the state for the next three to four days. During this period, daytime temperatures may rise by 2 to 3°C, and nighttime temperatures may also remain 2 to 4°C above normal. Citizens are advised to avoid direct exposure to sunlight during the day and stay hydrated.
