Easter weekend 'ruined' as shoppers rage over 'mouldy' roasts and melted eggs

A number of Brits have moaned were “ruined” by warped and mouldy roasties on their dinner plates. Many people have looked forward to sharing their Sunday for several months and weeks with relatives and loved ones when they would exchange choccies and other treats.

However, as always, some people’s plans were left in tatters when not quite everything went according to schedule. Some people complained their chocolate eggs they bought for traditional hunts in their gardens were ruined when they realised the chocolate was not quite right which they described as “unacceptable” which made them sad.

One unhappy person wrote on X, with a picture of sad looking chocolates: “You really think it’s ok to sell eggs like this? Talk about spoil Easter for kids!!!

Imagine doing an Easter egg hunt and going to eat one!! Unacceptable!”

replied: “Thanks for getting in touch, I am really sorry to learn about this, could you please send us through a DM and I will have this looked into for you right away.”

Another person was left fuming when their recently bought grapes they bought on Saturday from a supermarket were already mouldy. She said online: “This is the not the first time this has happened. Bought Saturday 19th, BBD 22nd, and look at these grapes, absolutely covered in mould.

“They were £3.75 and none of them can be eaten as all contaminated.”

Another fumed: “Just opened our pork joint to cook for Easter lunch and it has mould on the top. Put us off our Easter lunch!”

Meanwhile some people’s Easters were ruined by the wild experienced by many as rain fell in some parts of the country, putting paid to some plans to host their friends outdoors.

One husband took things one step too far this Bank Holiday weekend w before explaining the situation. She wrote: "We're at my for the Easter weekend, my husband decided to nip out to the pub last night to say a quick hello to old friends from the village.

“I stayed at his parents and put our 6 month old dc [darling child] to bed. He gets in a 3:30 drunk and wakes us all up, I spend the next hour trying to get baby back to sleep.

“He's supposed to be cooking us all an Easter meal, but he's currently laying on the garden lawn with a bucket next to him. His mum is bringing him tea and toast, but I have no sympathy.”
