Conor Maynard has spoken out after finding out he wasn't the father of star Charlotte Chilton's baby.
Speaking about his "year from hell" with This Morning hosts and , the 32-year-old revealed how he had no idea anything was going to go to the press.
Charlotte Chilton gave birth to daughter Penelope in October last year, and had publicly claimed , and alleged he was not involved with the baby.
"I am glad that the speculation can finally be put to an end. All I would ask is that people act with kindness in response to this news - there is a child at the heart of all of this and that should not be forgotten. I wish Charlotte and her family all the best. Conor."
Now, the singer has spoken out against The Traitors star after he was "painted as a dead-beat dad" on social media.
"It was difficult to remain silent," he told Paddy and Alison. "I was instantly painted as a dead-beat dad. My comments on my social media were all about that.

"Instinctively you want to defend yourself, you want to tell your side of the story, but I also felt like it wasn't right to speak on it until I knew the truth myself," he continued. "And I didn't want to force that."
Conor then confirmed that he had researched paternity tests, and learnt they can be considered dangerous for an unborn child, which is why he decided to wait.
Speaking on the the star said: "I actually felt like I was going to have a massive panic attack the second I found out," Connor admitted. "That's the difficult truth about mental health.
"When something traumatic happens to you, the second that traumatic event stops you don't think, 'Oh I'm fine now.' It doesn't work out like that.
"When the result came in, it was unbelievable, but it wasn't instant relief. It took a lot of time to process and really understand."
