A baying mob is said to have lynched a British man accused of murder before burning him alive in in a dark attempt at seeking justice.
The unnamed man was held by members of the local community on suspicion of. However, around six hours after he was placed under arrest a large group of people stormed the police station before he was due to be moved, dragging him into the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve in Ecuador’s Amazon region. Local reports say he was horrifically lynched by the mob before being set alight and later died of his horror injuries.

A local TV station, reporting on the two deaths, said: “In the early hours of Sunday, April 20, in the parish of Playas de Cuyabeno, at the closure of an event that took place for the anniversary of the Kichwa community, an incident occurred where as a result two people died.
“Those two people were a community member from the area and another person of British nationality who died due to the severity of his burns.”
Ecuadorian newspaper Extra reported police officers who arrested him had decided not to intervene when the baying mob forced their way into the local station out of fear of being attacked themselves by the group.
After the attack police reinforcements took a lot of time to reach the area he was in because of its remoteness and difficult access.
The Ecuadorian man killed has been named locally as Rodrigo Chavez. It is currently unknown if any arrests have taken place following the murder of the man being described as a British national.
Last month a Brit tourist died shortly after who turned him away from a brothel. The victim, who was identified as a 28-year-old man, was allegedly beaten to death after he tried to enter 91karakoe bar in Bangkok, , at around 2am this morning.
According to reports, he was acting erratically before he demanded beer at the venue and tried to force his way inside. However, the 28-year-old was refused entry and was then chased by the two bouncers on a motorcycle.
A police spokesperson said he was "followed to a nearby side street" and reportedly knocked unconscious during a fight. The suspects alerted the emergency services and stayed at the scene.
Paramedics rushed to the alleyway and performed CPR. However, he was sadly pronounced dead around 200 meters from the bar .
