Mikel Arteta hopes to welcome back some key players for Arsenal's trip to face Newcastle United. The Gunners will face off against Eddie Howe's men at St. James' Park on Sunday, with both teams eager to find their form again in the Premier League.
Gabriel Martinelli clinched a last-gasp draw for Arsenal at home to Manchester City last weekend while Newcastle were kept at bay on the south coast at Bournemouth. "Every game will be different," Arteta said ahead of the journey to the North East, having watched his side beat Port Vale 2-0 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
"I didn't like the first minutes that we played at the Emirates against them, I like other parts of it. There are a lot of parts I liked about the games we played at St James' Park, but not especially when we conceded the goals but we will have to be better.

"I think the level is better, their level will rise, our level will rise and we're going to have to be at our best. If we do that, we're going to have a good chance to win the game."
Arsenal have lost on their last three visits to St. James' Park, presenting a significant challenge for Arteta. His task will be made easier with the return of key players, though, and Mirror Football is here to run through the latest Gunners injury news and return dates.
Bukayo SakaBukayo Saka was substituted by Max Dowman around an hour into Wednesday's match against Port Vale. The 24-year-old winger, who had just come back from a hamstring injury, was taken off after being on the end of a hefty challenge.
When asked if Arsenal had sustained any injuries in the Carabao Cup tie, Arteta replied: "Yeah, nothing to report there. I think he's played the games that we anticipated, he did well, he feels good and he will be training the next few days."
Return date: September 28 vs Newcastle

After suffering a groin injury, Piero Hincapie has missed Arsenal's last two matches. The Bayer Leverkusen loanee, who the Gunners have the option to sign permanently for £45million, isn't expected to be out for a long period.
"He picked up a little groin injury," Arteta said. "We'll have to assess him again in the next few days to see how he goes.
"There's been a change of load, and he didn't really have a pre-season after the surgery that he had. We'll have to see in the next week or so how he is. No, I think it will be a short time."
Potential return date: September 28 vs Newcastle
Martin OdegaardHaving experienced a setback with his shoulder during the Nottingham Forest game, Martin Odegaard was substituted for Ethan Nwaneri after just 18 minutes. That ruled him out of clashes with Athletic Bilbao, City and Port Vale, but Arteta is optimistic about his return against Newcastle.
"Martin will be training with us the next two days, so hopefully he'll be available for the game," Arteta confirmed.
Potential return date: September 28 vs Newcastle
Kai HavertzOne of Arsenal's three long-term absentees, Kai Havertz was forced to have knee surgery in August. The German forward will therefore be sidelined for a number of months, with November his target.
"With Kai, we know that it will be months with him," Arteta explained. "I don't know if it can be weeks, you never know because this is Kai and he's a different specimen. We really miss him.
"Hopefully, he will be back, and back for the long term as well, so it is very important to look after that knee. So far, he's progressing pretty well."
Potential return date: November
Noni MaduekeAnother serious knee injury, Noni Madueke was brought off at half-time against City. The 23-year-old summer signing is reportedly set to be out for two months, although Arteta revealed in his press conference that he hasn't yet undergone a fresh scan.
"Yes, it looks like he's going to be out for a few weeks," the Arsenal manager told reporters. "We don't know yet, we're probably going to have to scan him next week again.
"He felt something at the beginning of the match, he tried to carry on, and at half-time, he was too sore, so let's see.
"We hope [it's weeks rather than months]. As I said, we need to scan him again to see the real extent of the injury, but it doesn't look too bad."
When asked if Madueke has undergone a scan, Arteta informed journalists on Friday: "No, not yet."
Potential return date: November

Having ruptured his ACL during an FA Cup defeat to Manchester United back in January, Gabriel Jesus remains sidelined. The striker, 28, has been ramping up his recovery but still isn't expected to feature until the festive period.
"He had major surgery that was going to take him many, many months," Arteta last commented. "So, after discussing that with the medical staff and understanding the schedule that we had and when we thought that he could be available, that it would be between December and January, we decided to make that call, like we've done in the past with other players.
"Hopefully, we did it wrong and he comes back earlier. But at the moment, the provision was very clear."
Potential return date: December
