Aimee Lou Wood fans stunned to learn of her famous sister who looks just like her

Fans of Aimee Lou Wood have been left gobsmacked to realise they had been following her famous sister on social media - without realising the pair are siblings. Former star Aimee, 31, saw her star power skyrocket this year thanks to a heartbreaking performance in season three of HBO's hit murder mystery show The White Lotus.

But is not the only famous person within the Wood family - as her younger sister Emily has a hugely successful career of her own. Social media fans with an interest in make-up may already be aware that the 28-year-old shares videos and advice under her platform emilywoodmakeup.

But many had not made the connection between the two and are only now getting wise to the fact Aimee and Emily are sisters. Minds were blown this week when the You Beauty podcast made clear that the duo don't just have a passing resemblance for each other.

The podcast declared via a social media post: "You might’ve seen @emilywoodmakeup on your FYP doing a full glam look with just a single lip liner. But did you know her sister is The White Lotus star @aimeelouwood? The Wood sisters are out here thriving.”

One astonished fan responded to the post to write: “No way! How cool. I love her makeup vids.” Another said: “I had no idea they are so cute the both of them.”

While a third follower commented: “I thought it was a bit but they’re actually sisters lol.” Emily has seen her own star power rise in recent weeks as she defended her sister after Saturday Night Live broadcast a cruel sketch that mocked her appearance.

Earlier this month, the iconic American comedy show sparked fury when they mocked Aimee's teeth in a White Lotus parody sketch. The actress herself hit out at the show via her Stories where she said she didn’t mind being made fun of “when it’s clever and in good spirits” but added there “must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way” to do so.

She went on: "I did find the ‘SNL’ thing mean and unfunny xo. (Felt righteous, might delete later).” She then added in another upload: “Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple of weeks ago.

"Yes, take the p**s for sure - that’s what the show is about - but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?" And she then called out comedian Sarah Sherman's ‘Mancunian’ accent in the sketch, as she said: “At least get the accent right, seriously, I respect accuracy even if it’s mean.”

Aimee was defended by her sister at the time - who lead the chorus of online voices throwing their support behind the White Lotus star. Taking to social media following the incident, the make-up expert wrote: "My [] @aimeelouwood. She is out here personifying the word POWERHOUSE. The admiration I have for this woman is nuts. Beyond comprehension.

"JUST like my feelings of deep animalistic protectiveness over her. The greatest big sister. My best human on the planet. Her authenticity and originality is incomparable. My god we are really madly blessed to experience life on earth at the same time as her."

Aimee Lou later shared a gesture by Sarah Sherman on Instagram. Taking to her Stories, she uploaded a photo of a bouquet of flowers sent to her from the comedian, 32.She captioned the post: "Thank you for the beautiful flowers @sarahsquirm," while sharing a number of emojis, including a pink love heart.

Aimee has proudly talked about her notable teeth - opening up about them on a recent appearance on ITV's The Jonathan Ross show. Fellow guest Stephen Fry, started a conversation, saying: “You’ve obviously made an enormous number of people happy by not changing your teeth. You know they’re notable like my bent nose. You obviously had a time when some people would have told you, ‘Oh, you should get those corrected, ’ but you stood up for them."

Aimee jokingly responded: “I can’t believe the impact my teeth are having. The Americans can’t believe it”.
