Etawah: Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is constructing a large scale Shiv temple in Etawah, inspired by the Kedarnath temple. The temple, named Kedareshwar Mandir, is being built on approximately 50 bighas of land, located about 20 kilometers from his village, Saifai.
The foundation stone was laid in 2020, with completion expected by 2026. A unique feature of this project is that it is being built without the use of bricks, sand, cement, or iron.

The temple is being built directly on the Shiv Shakti Aks Rekha, a straight line on which eight major Shiv temples of India are located.
