Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In response to memorandum given by members of Sakal Hindu Samaj to chief minister Mohan Yadav demanding an investigation into the role of fish trader Mohammed Shariq aka Shariq Machhli into rape and blackmailing case, the trader on Monday issued a video denying his involvement.
In the video, Shariq claimed that he was being targeted by some persons as he had taken out a rally in support of Waqf Bill.
Without naming his opponents, Shariq said they were spreading rumours against him. “I have neither taken the contract of Hathaikheda Dam nor the lease of land on which Club 90 was constructed.
It belongs to other people but my name was spread in the case to implicate me in a fake case” he claimed.
He added, “I even do not know Farhan or the other accused involved in the case. I have given a complaint against such social media groups and reports to Bilkhiriya police and senior police officials.”
Authorities demolish portion of Club 90
In a big step in rape and blackmail case, the administration on Monday demolished a portion of Club 90 where accused Farhan and his aides used to take the victims. The portion was illegally constructed by the owners, an official said. District Magistrate Kaushalendra Vikram Singh said the lease of the land has been cancelled by Nagar Nigam and has been taken into possession.
A team of Nagar Nigam under senior officials and accompanied by police personnel reached Club 90 and demolished the illegally-constructed portion using bulldozers. The three-member inquiry team of NCW has visited the club on Monday and have asked officials regarding action taken against such clubs operating in Bhopal.
Police investigations have revealed that the Club was run by one Meharban Gurjar who has taken the land on lease. The club used to provide cabins to couples for privacy in return of hefty charges and even used to organise late night parties.
