Amid escalation between India-Pakistan and the 'ongoing' Operation Sindoor, PM Modi has instructed armed forces that India's response to every action by Pakistan should be more forceful, government sources have revealed.
"Following Operation Sindoor, PM told military bullets must be responded to by artillery (Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola chalega)," the sources said.
As the Indian Armed Forces continue to respond to Pakistan's drone and missile strikes, sources have said that Operation Sindoor, India's military operation in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, has not ended yet.

There is a new normal in India's response to cross-border terrorism, they said, referring to the precision strikes and responding to Pakistan's violations at the Line of Control.
Despite initial backchannel engagement to de-escalate, including a contact initiated by the Pakistani Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) with the Indian counterpart on May 10, the understanding was violated within hours. Sources had revealed that India targeted 11 Pakistan airbases.
As per the sources, India maintains that it would retaliate forcefully if provoked by Pakistan. Earlier yesterday, India is also said to have noted that any future act of terror will be treated as 'act of war.'

The government has said that after the May 7 strikes on terror infrastructure, every action by Pakistan was dealt with firmly. “If Pakistan fires, India will respond more forcefully,” said the sources.
Operation Sindoor, initiated after the Pahalgam attack, is still underway and has included deep strikes inside Pakistani territory, including in Muridke, Bahawalpur, and flattening the Rahim Yar Khan runway.
“On the 9th and 10th, the Pakistanis hit 26 places. We hit them very, very hard—on airbases,” the sources said. India is also said to have conveyed to global interlocutors that it would not tolerate any attempt to equate the victims of terror with its perpetrators. “Even-handedness will not be tolerated,” the sources added.
“There will be retribution for the Pahalgam terror attack. That was done,” said the sources, affirming the purpose behind Operation Sindoor. “We will hit you, and we will hit you in your heartland. We haven’t lost sight of everybody who was involved in terrorism in India.”
India clarified that there are no talks happening at the National Security Adviser (NSA) level. “India NSA, Pakistan NSA talking is completely untrue. Only one talking will happen, that is DGMO to DGMO,” said the sources.
It was the Pakistani DGMO who requested for a ceasefire dialogue at 1 PM on Saturday, and the talks were held at 3:35 PM with the Indian DGMO. Officials said this outreach resembled Pakistan’s past post-conflict behaviour. “Pakistani did what they did after Kargil. After taking the hit, going to Americans,” they said, commenting on the U.S. role.
India has also intensified its diplomatic campaign. “After the Pahalgam attack, we told the international community, that we will hit terror targets in Pakistan,” they said. A meeting of the UN’s 1267 Sanctions Committee is expected next week, and India plans to present evidence of Pakistan’s support to terrorism. “The rest of the world has eyes. We will bring every piece of evidence,” the sources added.
On the Indus Waters Treaty, the government said it will remain in abeyance until cross-border terrorism ends. “When we build it, we will take you there... and keep your bags ready,” said a source, referring to dam construction projects.
“The only talking we have to do with Pakistan is about handing over PoK and the terrorists responsible for attacks in India,” sources said. They added that India’s position is non-negotiable and no other dialogue is on the table.
