Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has appointed Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya as Chairperson of the Select Committee on the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025. The Committee comprises 24 Members of the Lok Sabha.
The Jan Vishwas Bill, introduced in Lok Sabha on August 18, 2025, seeks to amend 17 Central Acts with the objective of reducing compliance burden, rationalising penalties, and strengthening trust between citizens, businesses, and the government.
Thanking the Speaker, Surya in a post on X, said: “I thank Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Hon’ble Speaker Shri Om Birla Ji, and Hon’ble Ministers Shri Kiren Rijiju and Shri Piyush Goyal Ji for entrusting me with this responsibility. I look forward to carrying out this responsibility with utmost commitment to help shape a Bill that makes lives easier, strengthens trust and sparks new entrepreneurial journeys.”
The Bill is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of Minimum Government, Maximum Governance and marks a significant step towards improving India’s Ease of Doing Business, he added.
