Now traveling in metro will be even easier and cheaper! If you also go to office or college by metro every day, then there is a great news for you. Cab service company Uber has now started a new facility, through which you can also buy metro tickets through Uber app, that too with up to 50% discount.
Started in Delhi
This facility has been started first with Delhi Metro. Now crores of Delhi Metro passengers will not need to stand in line to buy tickets. Just open the Uber app on your phone, make a few clicks, and get metro QR code tickets immediately.
How will it work?
Uber has started this facility in partnership with ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce). You can buy tickets by visiting the app and making payment through UPI. After buying the ticket, you will get a QR code, which you can scan at the entry and exit gates of the metro station.
You will be able to buy 8 tickets at once
A user can buy a maximum of 8 QR tickets at a time from the Uber app. This facility is especially beneficial for those who travel in groups or travel with family.
Not only tickets, live information too
On the Uber app, you will not only get tickets, but also live timings and updates of the metro. This will make it easier to plan which metro is coming when.
The facility will come soon in other cities too
The company plans to start this metro ticket booking service in three more cities of India by the end of the year 2025. That is, in the coming time, people of other cities will also be able to take advantage of this facility.
So if you travel by metro and were troubled by long lines till now, then this new facility is no less than a relief for you. Buy tickets through the Uber app, ride at half the price and save time too.
